REAL ESTATE in some parts of Mexico is straight forward, like what we are used to up north.

However in this part of Mexico (coast of Jalisco) it is very much different ! There can be quite a few pitfalls to the “new comer”.

We for example were forced to learn a whole lot about the “local” intricacies since I had fallen victim to rip-off schemes of Santana Real Estate.

They had closed their doors for a while but are now re-opened at the same address with a different name and some-one else fronting it, so it appears. We did learn a whole lot the hard way!

On the other hand, if done properly, the returns on real estate investments here can be very impressive! It is not uncommon to double your investment in 3 to 5 years, more than 20% appreciation per year!
